On the origins of Locoparasaxo!

The idea for wall-mounted sax stands was conceived out of pure nescessity! Imagine a studio where just about every square foot is taken up with instruments, amp's, stands, cables etc. As long as you're playing you're fine but on brakes there's no real safe spot to put your sax down so you end up keeping it in your lap!.

It was at a moment like that, when it occurred to me that the only really safe spot would be on the wall. Being a bit of a metal artist it didn't take me long to dream up a sort of prototype and presented it to my sax-crazed friend Sisko. After mounting it on one of the walls he commented so positively on the advantages of now always having a safe place to store his Conn that I realized just how brilliant my idea was. And that I should share this wonderful find with my fellow sax fanatics around the world. As one thing usually leads to another I studied the proportions of several saxophones and designed a series of wall mounted saxophone stands that are stylish, sturdy, easy to mount and will last a life time. Then came the sourcing of all the components, which took quite a while since I'm very picky.

In the mean time I registered locoparasaxo.com and the sitebuilding was started by webdesign Nijmegen! For the coating we decided on a process of sandblasting, priming, electro-static powdercoating (Du Pont) . This procedure ends with baking the stands in an oven which gives them the beautiful finish and silky feel they have.

All stands are made by hand in a workshop close to my hometown Nijmegen, the oldest city of the Netherlands, founded well over 2000 years ago.

When you receive your order from Locoparasaxo.com and enjoy the way it looks, feels and admire your beautiful instrument displayed in it, know that there's a lot more to it then meets the eye! Things like passion for music and saxophones are in there too, and balanced design, craftsmanship, enthusiasm for the advantages of the stands and, last but not least the love and support of many friends and family.

A big,big thank you goes out to Sisko van de Geer, Coen Ponsen, Natalie Brendel, Rob Spoelstra, John Groenen, Marcel van Vught, Jaap Fokker, Pieter Bos and many others for helping me to make this happen! And of course also to all of you ; our much appreciated customers!

Enjoy the benefits! Kind regards, Paddy Melis
